erosion of the soul

erosion of the soul

a disposable cog in the machine
you have no value
replaceable despite competence

favoritism
bullying
nepotism
ever changing expectations

no work-life balance
wage slaves
soul-depleting labor

can I have a raise
you’re paid industry standard
that’s not true
it is

turnover
25 in 5.75 years
short-staffed
burnout

push yourself to the limit
they get rich
you die trying to exist

bust your balls
for management bonuses
another quarter of a point
in stocks
you are not a priority

sweatshop slavery
no loyalty from above
push for better conditions
and you’re replaceable

thank you for your work
we value what you do
do more

thank you for your work
there are no more raises
we need you to do more

thank you for your work
you are the best employee we have
do more

thank you for your work
do what I say or dust off your resume
we need you to do more

thank you for your work
we don’t want you to leave
do more

thank you for your work
why are you leaving
we won’t fight to keep you
good-bye

    Get out then
Stand on that rock and watch
    We’ll paddle on without you
    Over the waterfall
